Be fruitful and multiply…
For so long we was taught that Adam and Eve were the first humans to exist, but it just didn’t make sense to me, because Adam and Eve had three sons, so how did it come about for Cain to find a wife if Eve was the only woman, whom was his mother? We know that the Bible forbid incest, so God couldn’t let something like that happen.
So after going back for understanding, I finally found the scripture that I think we all missed.
Genesis 1:26-28 (Holman KJV)- And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
This scripture tells us that Adam and Eve are not the first humans God created. God created both male and female who has already multiplied all across of the earth.
In Genesis 2:7-8, God formed a man out of dust from the ground and breathed life into his nostrils, allowing him to be a living soul, and God placed him in the garden eastward in Eden.
You can see that when God first created man, he spoke life.
In this scripture above, God breathed life into one man and placed him in a specific area which is the garden of Eden.
As we move forward to Genesis 2:18, the Lord God said it is not good that the man be alone and that he will make him an help meet for him.
So when Adam fell into a deep sleep in Genesis 2:21, that is when God took one of Adams ribs and turned it into a woman.
This would be the beginning of a marriage between a man and a woman.
But since this can’t physically happen again, Genesis 2:24 explains that when a man leave his father and his mother, he shall cleave unto his wife and they shall be one flesh.
So after Adam and Eve committed the sin of eating the forbidden fruits of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and receiving their punishments, they go on to conceive Cain, Abel, and Seth.
And their sons Cain and Seth will go on to create their own families and so on.
Now we should have some better understanding about the creation of man.
